Horizontal, Black & white of Aleta de Tiburón, and unclimbed peak in Cordillera Darwin - a seldom explored and remote mountain range in Tierra del Fuego, Chile. This image was taken as a part of an expedition to climb and research the effects climate change on some of the world's southernmost mountain glaciers. This region is as remote as it is pristine and wild. Characterized by harsh, wet winds from the pacific and a labyrinth of fjords, this landscape holds many barriers of entry for those seeking a true touch of the untamed. This image is rare glimpse of the Darwin Ice field, often obscured by clouds. It's a place we explored as much as possible to gather snow isotope samples, climb and gather elevation data to expand global knowledge in the scientific community.
